Valentine's Day Makeup Look - Day to Night
2/11/2015 07:00:00 PM
Hey everyone!
Don't forget to check out Kimren's blog for the day time look: www.basibeauty.blogspot.co.uk
Today's collaboration post is going to be two Valentine's Day makeup looks with a day option and a night option! My half of the post is going to be a night option done by me on my lovely chummy (thank you chummy)! And Kimren's post is going to be a day option so make sure to check hers out!
So, first off, start with a clean and fresh face.
I prefer starting with the eyes, but you could start with the face and then do the eyes later!
1. I started off by applying Make Up For Ever Aqua Shadow stick in 30E. Use could use any eyeshadow base in a similar color such as Sephora Jumbo liner in 05 Beige or a Maybelline Color Tattoo and blend it out a bit with your finger for an even application!
2. Then, I applied Makeup Geek's Creme Brulee eyeshadow all over the crease as a transition color. (Trust me, this color is fool-proof if you have a problem with unblended eyeshadow!)
3. Now for the real fun! I applied Makeup Geek's Bitten eyeshadow to the outer V (outer crease) and brought it in a bit to the crease. I also applied a bit of Makeup Geek's Cocoa bear eyeshadow to transition into a red toned brown and into Creme Brulee smoother.
4. I took a tiny (and I mean TINY - literally just touched my brush to it) of Corrupt eyeshadow from Makeup Geek and blended it into the outer V to give it a deeper, smokier look.
5. I Then applied MAC's Expensive Pink eyeshadow all over the lid and took a little bit of MAC's Pigment in Gift O' Glamour sprayed with a little Rose Water on top Expensive Pink to make it pop more. Then, I just applied a little shimmer with Shimma Shimma from Makeup Geek (see what I did there?) to the inner corner and brow bone.
6. Blend the lid color with the crease color using a clean brush and add a bit of the crease color if desired.
7. I then applied winged eyeliner, a little mascara and full falsies!
Now on to the face!
1. First, I applied BB cream around the cheeks, nose and forehead then blended it down to the neck. You could use something with more coverage but since we weren't going to do anything afterwards (all we did was eat dinner and watch a movie, haha!) I opted for a BB cream.
2. Since it was a special occasion, night look, I went with a very brightening concealer in a large triangle under her eyes, a thin line on the bridge of her nose with a triangle in the middle of her forehead and a line from the end of the nose to the cupid's bow. Then, I applied a dark foundation (you can also use concealer) to contour her cheekbones, the sides of her nose, her jawline and her temples. I then blended everything out with a damp sponge and set the highlighted areas with powder, MUFE Uplight highlighter for a dewy look on top and set the contoured areas with NYX Matte Bronzer.
3. Once I was done with the face, I went back to the eyes and applied a mix of Makeup Geek's bitten and Mocha to the lower lash line for a smokier look and added mascara to the lower lash line. Didn't do anything to her brows since she's blessed with amazing, natural brows!
4. Lastly, I applied Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in 175 Pink Punch on the lips!
