Modern Day Disney Princess - Ariel

11/11/2014 12:00:00 PM

Hey lovelies!

Today I'll be starting a new series called 'Modern Day Disney Princess' where I'll be posting a modernized princess look every week! This week, I'm starting with one of the classics; Ariel from The Little Mermaid! This one's for my chummy. Now, these are more modern day interpretations, so they will be a bit different from the original. However, these still are inspired by the original!

Now, Ariel has very little to no makeup on (as do most Disney classics) because they only just started customizing makeup looks for each princess (which you could clearly see on Elsa in Frozen). However, I am going to put my own twist on it!

⚓︎ For the base, sticking to the minimal look, you can choose to either not use foundation or go with a more natural, sheer foundation/tinted moisturizer/BB cream.

⚓︎ For the eyes, you can choose to either go all out with an emerald smoky eye or for a more day time look, go for a emerald cream shadow all over the lid. On the lower lash line, apply some light purple eyeshadow (shimmery preferable). You can achieve the same effect by smudging out purple eyeliner under the eyes. In the inner corner, apply a bright lavender shade (something lighter than the lower lash line color and will pop). Apply a a light coat of mascara and if you want to go all out, you can apply individual lashes to the end of your lashes for a more fanned out look!

⚓︎ For the cheeks, definitely go for a more radiant, glowy look, like you just spent the day at the beach. A light brush of bronzer for that sunkissed look, a dust of pink blush on the apples of your cheeks, and some highlighter to finish the look off!

⚓︎ For the lips, this one's up to you! For a classic Ariel look, you could do a red lip. If you want to go more neutral, go for a pinky nude. For a more edgy, fun look, you can go for a magenta or even purple lip!

(sorry for the quality of the face charts! It was my first time making one and I had to use a painting app)

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Please tell me if you guys like these kinds of posts!

Until Next Time,
