Top 5 Tuesday - Back To School Snacks!
9/23/2014 12:00:00 PM
Hey everyone!
In honor of me starting university on Sunday (my first year!), I decided to make 5 simple back to school recipes. I'm pretty sure by now everyone has gone back to school/university/work, so I decided to dedicate a top 5 Tuesday to back to school!
1- Green Apples and Peanut Butter: this is the most simple recipe I know, but it probably one of the tastiest! Just chop up a green apple (or red! Whatever you prefer) and take a spoonful of peanut butter as dip and you're done! You could mix it up and try almond butter or I've heard there's cookie dough butter, so play around with the recipe!
2- Deconstructed Salad: So I recently got addicted to Italian dressing (I can't help it, it's amazing!) and I came home starving but didn't feel like making a whole salad. So, I chopped up some cucumber, sprinkled some feta cheese on top and put some salad dressing as a dip on the side. The salad was a dip-style salad, and is completely versatile. You can replace the cucumber and feta with any veggies or cheeses you like and also switch up the sauce.
3- Rice Cake Sandwiches: I loveeeee rice cakes because they are so versatile and you can pretty much make full meals, snacks and desserts with them! My personal favorite breakfast/snack/dessert is peanut butter, sliced banana, and honey drizzled on top of a rice cake! You could use chocolate spread or any spread you like with this! Also, you could even use strawberries!
4- Frozen Grapes: this is sooo basic but omg it is amazing! It's like mini slushies! Just don't leave the grapes in the freezer for too long!
5- Berry Apple Smoothie: This is so refreshing! Add your favorite berries (mine are strawberries and raspberries), chop up some green apple and add some yogurt! Just blend and you'll have an amazing smoothie! You could also add mint or cucumber for extra freshness!
